Inglewood Hosts the World
Fast-forward to 2018, when the city pulled off something most municipalities across America would envy: It persuaded an NBA team (the Los Angeles Clippers), two NFL teams (the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers) and the NFL’s West Coast headquarters to make Inglewood their home base.
Super Bowl LVI, played at Inglewood’s new SoFi Stadium, offered a perfect chance to host Inglewood’s “coming-out” party, showcasing the city’s resurgence as Southern California’s premier sports city.
Rise Communications shepherded the city through extensive newspaper and television Super Bowl pregame coverage. The firm also led a parallel editorial project that developed and published a hugely popular, 52-page advertising-insert magazine in the Los Angeles Times titled “The Inglewood Renaissance: A Decade of Change.”
